The event, which took place at Arley Hall and Gar- dens in Northwich, takes the total number of officers in Cheshire to 2,431. The new recruits were joined on the day by a number of VIP guests including Lord Lieutenant Lady Alexis Red- mond, Sir Phil Redmond and the chair of Cheshire Magis- trates bench Patricia Peters. Chief Constable Mark Roberts said: “Making Cheshire even safer is our top priority, and by bringing in so many new recruits, who are of such high quality we will continue to achieve that aim. “The recruitment of these new officers is testament to the hard work of a number of departments as well as the dedication of our applicants including the training and recruitment teams, whilst our events staff were brilliant on the day in some challeng- ing weather conditions. “It was a great day with so many proud family and Passing out: Cheshire Police’s new recruits celebrate (Photo credit: Cheshire Constabulary) Police numbers are boosted friends there to see our officers passing out. “Crime rates in Cheshire continue to drop, and I hope that with this increase in police officer numbers we will see them drop even fur- ther, whilst bringing even more offenders to justice. “I wish all of our new officers the very best for their careers in policing.”
